鍍鋅作為一種犧牲陽極來保護陰極金屬的方法。其耐腐蝕壽命取決于鍍鋅層厚度和腐蝕速率。熱浸鍍鋅的鋅層厚度一般在65um(455g/m2)以上。鋅與鐵的結合面形成一層鋅鐵合金，增強了鋅層的附著力。在熱浸鍍鋅時容易產(chǎn)生變形等問題，需要在電纜橋架的結構上及鍍鋅工藝上加以考慮。

Zinc plating is a method of sacrificing anode to protect cathode metal. Its corrosion life depends on the thickness and corrosion rate of the galvanized layer. 對于結構尺寸較大的構件，由于受鋅鍋、鍍槽、烘箱等的限制，一般只能采用涂防銹漆的方法來處理。它雖然具有成本低、使用方便等特點;但防腐蝕能力較差。使用壽命短，維護工作量大。
